Valdese Lakeside Park is a 300-acre parcel of land that follows McGalliard Creek & Lake Rhodhiss and is located approximately 3.7 miles from Downtown.

Plans for developing the parcel are underway and the overall goal is to create an outdoor tourism attraction that will include; Welcome Area, Parking Area, Restrooms, Large Shelter, Picnic Tables, Outdoor Fitness, Crushed Stone Trails, Pump Track, Mountain Bike Trails, Canoe/Kayak Launch & Pier, Dog Park, and Playground. There are also plans to connect McGalliard Falls Park and Lakeside Park with a suspension bridge over McGalliard Creek.

There are 4-5 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, you can fish from the bank, picnic at the tables, launch a canoe or kayak from the shore and enjoy the views. Please follow our progress on https://friendsofthevaldeserec.org/
